Current Grant

In August 2018, Tom Parker's Giving made a $2.5 million commitment to New York's chain of hospitals for the development of the Tom Parker's Giving Inpatient Unit for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disease. This new cutting-edge unit within the hospital is scheduled to open in late autumn 2018.

This new support followed the early completion of our previous $1.2 million commitment, aimed at supporting the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology, by highlighting the "Tom Parker's Giving Playspace" at the Blau Center, where the department is located in a hospital.

Our constant commitment to hospitals empowered the Department of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology to continue to provide the crucial medical services to patients it serves.

Tom Parker's Giving's support for New York's chain of hospitals over the years has included its initial role in creating the Polio Center in the 1960s which was followed by many years of support for the hospital’s Adolescent Psychiatry Division.

After that, Tom Parker's Giving Foundation was focused on the following areas of need:

- Build the largest kids' diabetes clinic in New York.
- Develop a new device to assist the heart, which eliminates the need for a second major open-heart surgery.
- Create a stable program of financial assistance to students, so that the brightest can receive medical education no matter their financial situation.
- Establish a specialized clinic for early detection of cervical cancer.
- Establish Tom Parker's Giving's Foundation in the amount of $2.5 million to provide permanent support for medical research and education.
