Quarterly Newsletter

  • Developed 2 Overcome continues to volunteer at Sanctuary on 8th Street and is thankful for the contract extension throughout the remainder of the school year. D2O is pleased to announce that we now have an additional three volunteers working with the youth. The students have been challenged to write an essay on a topic that interests them.  Two winners will be selected from both the boys’ and girls’ groups and will receive a monetary award. During this period, 108 volunteer hours have been recorded.

  • Annual Volunteer Fair Expo -Hosted by VolunteerJax & Developed to Overcome. Come on out and participate in the amazing opportunity to learn more about the many nonprofit organizations in the Jacksonville communities, Wednesday, April 22 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM

  • We are pleased to share that Developed 2 Overcome has recently been awarded a generous $2,000 donation from the Vegas Beverage Group, which is full production company that creates projects for the modern entertainment world. Their internal focus is to create an immersive experience transporting you into a new world and stimulating all your senses. The Company is currently touring shows and festivals across the US and looking to eventually expand internationally. This meaningful investment in our mission will allow us to provide supplies needed to support various organizations.

  • On March 17th, D2O participated in a Career and Resource Fair for Bridges of America. Bridges of America serve over 200 clients, which have been in prison and have been deemed eligible for a community work assignment. D2O’s roll during the event is to reach out to individuals that would like a resume’ created and or reviewed.

  • D2O worked with 15 individuals at Clara White Mission during this period. The objective of the meetings was to review and or create resumes. Over the two sessions, eight (8) resumes were either created or received updates, seven volunteers participated, which lead to 21 hours of volunteer support.   

  • Members of Bank of American volunteer 87 hours to support D2O. The volunteer hours consisted of researching grants opportunities, recruiting volunteers, website enhancements, and working with the community.

  • D2O continued to provide volunteer support at Horse Sense & Sensitivity during the months January, February and March, 95 hours were recorded.
